The hot forged head in a single piece is the trademark of Grivel Air Tech Evolution, which has become the world ice axe standard. The handle is gently curved in the head to give a greater “opening” and facilitate the anchorage in the presence of any roughness of the ground, whilst the straight bottom penetrates into the snow without resistance.
In the Evolution version, the ice axe has a new 45-degree angled asymmetric tip for an ergonomic and easy-to-use handle, new non-slip tapes on the handle end and new aerospace lightweight rivets.
