The Petzl adventure began with Fernand Petzl’s passion for caving, a passion in which he was able to put his talents as a craftsman.
The result was a competence for the design and implementation of solutions for climbing, descending, securing and advancing in the dark. In 1970, the first products marked “Fernand Petzl” are made in the laboratory of Saint-Nazaire-les-Eymes (Isère, France).
Since then, the Petzl company, created in 1975, has managed to grow and become an international group, retaining a family dimension and the passion that animated Fernand Petzl.
